Looking at those photos I am wondering if Alexander McQuenn was aware of two things. Those collections are suppose to be for the summer 2010 not 2100 and it is the ready-to-wear fashion shows, not ready to take off ;-)
More seriously this is pure Alexander McQueen and I am LOVING it! This guy is a genius. This collection is an hybrid between digital and animal era.
Evolution—Darwin, the natural world, technology—provided inspiration for the dazzling clothes. Most of the dresses, in engineered prints and jacquards, were molded and draped, and in astonishing whorls of colors. Platform shoes looked like the hulls of ships.
McQueen, according to an internal logic detailed in a press release, was casting an apocalyptic forecast of the future ecological meltdown of the world: Humankind is made up of creatures that evolved from the sea, and we may be heading back to an underwater future as the ice cap dissolves.
Reptile-patterned, digitally printed dresses, the prints and fabrics are just amazing.
